This series is designed to provide faculty and students of the Curry School and other UVa colleges with interesting and accessible presentations by outstanding scholars who represent a variety of disciplines and whose research is making important contributions to the education sciences. In addition, we hope this series will highlight the growing importance of evidence-based approaches to education and inform the broader UVa community as to the breadth, rigor, and significance of contemporary educational research. Finally, in bringing these prominent speakers from across the nation to spend a day or two interacting with our faculty and students, we offer them the opportunity to become better acquainted with the diversity and high quality of educational research activities being carried out at the Curry School.
